Supported Data Formats

As a practical matter you can assume that if you are recording it, we can transcribe it.

Babbletype maintains a complete suite of professional conversion equipment at our offices in Philadelphia, and is fully capable of supporting receipt of materials in standard cassette tape or micro-cassette tape format, in VHS or DVD format, as well as in almost any digital format (including but not limited to CDA, MP2, MP3, MP4, WMA, RA, webcasts, podcasts, Internet Streaming Media, Real Audio, Windows Media, DSS and WAV). Babbletype also supports transcription of Active Group video recordings. All conversions are free of charge.

Note that daily cutoff times for material receipt vary by media. For content received in an already digital, immediately usable format (such as all downloadable media as well as digital files such as MP3s received at our offices on physical media), the cutoff time of receipt for daily production is 5pm EST. For content received in an analog format requiring conversion prior to production (such as cassette tapes, video tapes, etc.), the daily cutoff time is 12 noon. In the event that materials are received later than noon we will still attempt to convert for same day production, but cannot guarantee it.
